A Southern Cross representative will contact you within 24 hours to open the new account and obtain your identification in complicance with the financial transactions reporting act. As a guide please add your opening deposit amount and specific date if known.

This is an application to open an account with Heartland Building Society which was formed as a result of a merger between Southern Cross Building Society, CBC Canterbury and MARAC. Pursuant to the PRIVACY ACT 1993 Southern Cross advises that:

  1. a) This form collects personal information about you;
  2. b) The information is being collected to enable you to open and operate an account with the Society and to obtain the use of other Society products and services;
  3. c) The intended recipients of the information are the Society and its agencies, research firms and direct marketing firms engaged by the Society;
    • i) research firms, for the purposes of providing generic research about the Society's customers (to be undertaken on a "no-names" basis); and
    • ii) direct marketing firms engaged by the Society, for the purpose of various marketing initiatives that may be undertaken by the Society.
  4. d) The information is being collected by and held at Southern Cross, P o Box 554, Auckland;
  5. e) Failure to provide this information or provision of incorrect information may result in your application for Society products and services being declined, or your being unable to open an account with the Society;
  6. f) You do have rights of access to, and correction of, personal information supplied to and held by the Society.
